A Little Scottish Lady

Out the Parkview end of town

Hang a left down Valencia Street

Lived a little Scottish lady

I loved to meet.

Over the railway bridge

Left of the park

Lived that little Scottish lady

Who is close to my heart

In a little council flat

Down a trim cement path

Was a little little lady

Who loved to have a laugh.

She’d tap her foot

And sip sweet sherry

Blow up a tune

To make life merry.

Down the main street

At the Yanco end of town

She’s at the Soldiers Club

Pulling the handle down.

Out at the Legacy ball

Her vision getting hazy

Tapping toe and nodding head

Singing, “Daisy, Daisy”.

With eyesight fading

She’d walk to town

Then came the white stick

To help her get around.

She moved to the Villa

As the sun slowly set

On a loving little Scottish lady

We can never forget.
