The Spectator

She sat on the edge of her world

Watching her life slowly untwirl.

Kittens bounced about, playing in curious places.

Regular appearances of young smiling faces.

A spectator of the sublime.

Her life, like a film, rolling real time.

She sat with a smile and a pleasant disposition

Never a moan for her deteriorating condition.

Patiently watching till the credits rolled,

Arose from her couch and out the door she strolled.

With a knowing smile, she faced the unknown

Never to return to her loved ones at home.
