Chlorine Doreen

Chlorine Doreen swims in the pool

Up lane down lane like a machine.

Chlorine Doreen is nobody’s fool

She’s driven by her fitness routine.

She powers over those swimming slow

Muttering “they need to get in another lane!”

She’s got goals to achieve, don’t they know!

And breaststroke swimmers driver her insane.

Chlorine Doreen smiles politely

When other swimmers let her swim by

But she does not let laggards off lightly

Staring them down with her evil eye.

Up and down suburban streets

Chlorine Doreen drives her little car

Things to do, people to meet

But never venturing far.

Chlorine Doreen drives like she swims

A slave to speed and rules

Her rage is always gently simmering

She cannot suffer fools!

Chlorine Doreen smiles and waves

To those who acquiesce

Then flips the bird to all those knaves

Who impede her steady progress.
