Lift Conversations
The lift doors of the Tokyo 3 star hotel open and I step in. Standing in the lift is a lady in her early to mid-thirties dressed in jeans and a top. Next to her is a man of the same age. He is wearing tight black stove pipe jeans with the bottoms of each leg turned up as if the jeans were too long. The stove pipe cut of the jean accentuate his skinny legs. His shirt is a broad blue and white stripe which clash with the bright red braces and black bow tie he is wearing.
She holds up a business card for him to see and says (in an Aussie accent), "Do you want this?"
"Who is it?” He asks.
"That guy from Wahroonga", She replies.
"Oh! The weird one!", He says.
